noserings

yes, noserings

Kibitsu, Okayama, Japan. A Shinto shrine, including a Nose-Ring Burial Mound, “created in 1925 to spiritually redeem all the cows slaughtered for the previously foreign dietary habit of beef consumption”. Today, the mound boasts about 66 million noserings, all from slaughtered cattle. (source)
