Probably an early sign of upcoming changes in university organization might be the influx of advertisements specifically targeted at university lecturers.
Today in my mailbox: an advertisement for cheap teak garden furniture. A whole set of cheapo chairs plus table for the ridiculous price of suchandsuch.
It seems to be assumed that university lecturers nowadays (a) have gardens, (b) have time to spend in gardens, (c) have money to spend on garden furniture.
Somehow I just don’t get the joke.
