Chea Vannath

Chea Vannath, a (woman) sociologist, is director of the Center for Social Development (CDS) in Pnom Penh, Cambodia, a registered non-governmental organization that “seeks to promote democratic values and improve the quality of life of the Cambodian people through practical research, advocacy, awareness-raising and public debate”. The CSD appears to be a highly active organization, responsible for international workshops, issuing publications about Cambodia today, and so on.

Chea Vannath is frequently interviewed on all sorts of matters Cambodian, be it on how to come to terms with Khmer Rouge horrors, corruption, the role of the monarchy in Cambodia, and, most recently, the upsurge of anti-Thai-sentiment in Cambodia.
