- Sitting upright: pain-free for five minutes. Then that sharp pain in the lower right side of jaws sets in again.
- Walking around in apartment: nice distraction, look at this fly and that spider, this dustball and that dirty sock. Pain slowly subsides. But can’t walk around for hours, can I.
- Lying down on the back: same as sitting upright. Worse with head on pillow and higher than rest of the body.
- Lying down on the side: forget it.
- Lying down on the belly: forget it.
- Drinking coffee: a kamikaze mission. The whole right half of mouth a cosmos of burning pain. Perhaps soothe with
- camomille tea: kamikaze seems to be a gradable adjective.
- Drinking cold liquids: are you nuts?
- Hyperventilation: seems to work, though I wouldn’t want the pictures shown to anyone who knows me. Or might come to know me at some point in my life.
- Sleeping: same as drinking cold liquids.
- Standing on your head: ok, this is not a serious conversation anymore.
- Calling dentist: pain gone. But I can’t call the dentist the whole night, can I.
- Stop complaining: haven’t tried yet.
